
Hello Cubies! Welcome back to another week of video game discussions. We have talked a lot about mechanics, art and intent for video game designers but there is a category that seems to be forgotten when talking about games. That being the architecture in games. For years it has just been a background piece and many games do not put a major focus on it when designing their levels. But we are seeing more and more games try and put more emphasis on the overall architecture to help boost their level design, along with creating a stronger immersion for the player. Locations are becoming more grounded in reality and basic architectural practices are being focused on. This really is showing the overall growth of the game design field.
